We would like to thank the Lake County Health Department for sending representatives to educate our clients on the Illinois WIC program offered to current and expecting mothers. Here we have Anna and Ericka!

Ramadan Refugee Food Drop Off: Part 1

Here is our Community Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator, Umraan Syed, who spearheaded a project yesterday to donate an estimated 5,000 pounds of food to Islamic Oasis, Rohingya Culture Center, and our very own Hope Food Pantry at The Urban Muslim Minority Alliance (UMMA) Center! Thank you to all our donors who made this possible and the Northern Illinois Food Bank and AmazonFresh for the delicious donations. Alhumdulilah we were able to feed over 150 families with your renewed support!!! We are currently raising money for our annual Refugee Drive to provide sustainable living conditions to refugees in the Chicagoland area as well as in and around Syria with our partners RefugeeOne and UNHCR

UMMA Fest 2017 a Success!

Our first UMMA Fest has come and passed, and what an event it was. Face painting, delicious food, free haircuts, and good company were all present, showing the rich diverse vibrancy of our community! None of it would have been possible without the generous donations from local businesses, our cities leaders who attended, and of course our benevolent volunteers. Very special thanks to Mayor Cunningham, Congressman Schneider, Mayor Rockingham of North Chicago, and Amy Whitis for joining us and adding their presence to the fun!
