Adopt a Refugee Ramadan Program

UMMA Center is pleased to announce its third annual Ramadan Adopt a Refugee Family Initiative. Last year, the initiative was able to help out more than 120 Chicagoland refugee families. The event was a huge success and we felt a strong demand to conduct one again this year. Again, the mission of the project is for each of us to help one Chicago Muslim refugee family by providing basic essential household items. The delivery date will be on Sunday, September 14th at the Indo American Center.

Refugee Outreach Social- food and fun!

The UMMA Center invites you to our first Refugee Outreach event on July 24th, 1:00pm at the IFN Mosque in Waukegan, IL.
We will be hosting a lunchtime social for the Somalian refugee youth and their families who have recently settled in the Chicagoland Rogers Park and Edgewater neighborhoods. The refugees are from the Bantu tribe and more than 99% are Muslim. We are looking for strong youth participation!
