The UMMA Center's Sixth Annual Ramadan Adopt a Refugee Family Initiative is quickly approaching!

Last year, the initiative was a huge success - we helped more than 180 Chicago-land refugee families settle into their new homes. With the growing number of Muslim Refugees coming to Chicago, the UMMA Center recognizes the need to continue this important work!

The mission of the project is to connect one Muslim American Family with at least one Muslim Refugee Family by providing basic essential household items, and school supplies backpacks to families in need. By allowing this connection we encourage awareness of the Refugee crisis in Chicago and present an opportunity to give during the month of Ramadan.

All of the refugees are newly arrived within the past year, and include families from Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia and more locations.
