The Mission of the Urban Muslim Minority Alliance (UMMA) Center is to empower the lives of underprivileged individuals in Lake County by providing educational support and community resources. The UMMA Center believes that Lake County will be strengthened by the growth that education, hope and purpose bring to those seeking to enrich their lives with opportunities.

To eliminate poverty and empower the underserved residents of Lake County through education.

  1. Bridge the large SOCIO-ECONOMIC GAP in Lake County.
  2. Provide FREE Education, Basic Needs & Community Development Programs to empower the UNDERSERVED residents of Waukegan and North Chicago.
  3. Enable AT-RISK families to create a new script for their lives.
  4. Eradicate POVERTY in Lake County through EDUCATION.

WHY YOU SHOULD SUPPORT THE UMMA CENTER:

  • UMMA’s programming is designed to bridge residents into the work force
  • UMMA uses education as a means to end the cycle of poverty
  • UMMA offers small class sizes, personalized tutoring and mentoring support to all students

UMMA Agents of Social Change

Building a community is about the common good for all people. It is about changing failing systems to help everyone in need. We are all connected and we all win when a family goes to bed with food in their stomach, when a parent completes their GED and teaches their children how to succeed in school or when families become financially responsible and break out of poverty.

Be part of the community and for only 0.50 cents a day you can become an Agent today and influence a life of an underprivleged resident of Lake County forever. With your contribution UMMA can start changing the current failing systems. Becoming an Agent of Social Change means being a part of the work.
